The warning means there is a 90% probability of severe cold weather and/or icy conditions, which could increase the health risks to vulnerable patients and disrupt the delivery of services.
The alert, which was issued on Wednesday, is valid until 9am on Sunday.
On Tuesday, the county woke up to a blanket of snow however it caused minimum disruption on the roads and for schools.
