Bark's worse than his bike

TAIL ME: Minnie in her doggles, all ready to hit the road with Peter Garner.

NEW Forest border terrier Minnie is the UK's top motorcycling dog.

In nine years she has clocked up 27,000 miles as a pillion passenger behind owners Peter and Sue Garner on their various bikes - that's more than any other dog in Britain.

Now Minnie has been picked as one five furry faces joining insurance company Bennetts to be the faces of its new Barking Bikers initiative.

Motorcycle insurance specialists Bennetts kicked off its mission to find Britain's wackiest motorcyclists with a quest to find the top canine cruisers.

The headline for this story came from 2CR listener Dale from Winton who won the Headline Game on Friday's Paul Bunker Show

Peter, who lives at Hale near Fordingbridge, saw the advert in Motorcycle News and sent in some pictures of Minnie aboard some of her favourite bikes.

He and Sue, who is chairman of the Kennel Club Obedience Council, trained Minnie to be happy on two wheels from an early age.

Now an expert at ignoring rabbits and other tempting doggie targets, she wears a harness and protective "doggles".
