Santa hats, Christmas jumpers and antlers - here are some of our favourite submissions so far for our festive pets gallery.

You can find lots more pictures of pets in their Christmas outfits in our gallery here

Want to get involved?

We'd rather you send us photos of you and your pet but if you want to share a picture of just your pet in their Christmas outfit, that's fine too (although) these won't count towards our pet selfie competition.

Here are our top tips for taking a selfie with your pet:

Taking a pet selfie takes time and patience, and it's important not to force your pet if they are feeling camera shy. It’s better to position yourself next to your pet rather than trying to get them to fit in the frame with you.

So, if your cat is already sitting, slide in next to them. And if your dog is lying down, get down on the floor with them.

Once you have taken your photo, send it to petselfies@bournemouthecho.co.uk, post it on instagram and tag us in the picture or the comments (we're @bournemouthecho), message it to us via our Facebook page, tweet it to us @bourmemouthecho using #echofestivepets or text 80360 and start your message BE.

The best will be printed in the paper, keep checking back for more details.
