STARS of BBC soap EastEnders will be helping Santa Claus turn on the Christmas lights at Castlepoint Shopping Centre in Bournemouth.
Actors Gillian Wright and Matt Lapinskas, who are performing in the BIC pantomime Snow White, will be joined by C5 Milkshake presenter Olivia Birchenough to switch on the lights at the shopping park at 6pm on Thursday, November 26.
General manager Peter Matthews said: “Our new lighting will brighten everyone’s Christmas. Children will be delighted to see that our illuminated reindeer will be with her baby this year and the fairy lighting on our trees within the landscaping and the malls will be a fantastic feature.
“We will have the Centrepoint Elim Church choir at the switch-on as well as Christmas characters entertaining children of all ages.”
The switch on is only the start of the festive season at the shopping park.
On Saturday, December 5 and December 12, the Snow Cats, life-size Christmas Puddings, Percy Penguin and Monty the Polar Bear will all be at Castlepoint to bring a bit of holiday cheer to young shoppers.
The centre will also be giving away a daily prize to shoppers as part of their exclusive Gift Guide. The draw which began on Friday November 20 will last until Thursday, December 10. Enter online at www.castlepointshopping.com
And for all those shoppers who want to miss the Saturday rush the 45 outlets at the centre will be open until 9pm from Tuesday, December 1.
