Christmas Day has come and gone and we're stuck in that weird time of year when no-one is quite sure what to do with themselves.

If you're looking for something to over the next week, then worry not. We've come up with some ideas for all the family to take you through until New Year's Day.

Run off those mince pies on Saturday with the Poole parkrun. Runners of all abilities are invited along to the free 5km event which takes place at 9am. Whether you’re running just for fun, fitness or as part of a training plan, all you need to do is register at http://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/registerukform and turn up. Parking available at the Civic Centre. Buggies, wheelchairs and well behaved dogs welcome too.

Get your skates on and grab the family for a roller disco at the Sir David English Sports Centre on Saturday. There are two rinks; one for learners and another for more experienced skaters. Sessions are in the form of a disco with great music, lights and a DJ and prices are very affordable. All our sessions are patrolled by our fantastic skate marshals who provide a helping hand to all on the day. Price £3 plus skate hire.

The Christmas festivities continue in Bournemouth with live music in the Square. Dozens of local bands will be entertaining the crowds with performances from 10.30am until 10pm or 9pm on Sunday. Headliners include rapper Zuby tonight, Charli Brix & The Band on Saturday, Janet Rog on Sunday and The Villanovas on Tuesday. There will also be entertainment all day long on New Year’s Day.

In our Film Club? There’s 2 for 1 on selected films on Monday including The Hobbit, Paddington, Dumb And Dumber To, Night At the Museum 3 and Penguins Of Madagascar (to name but a few) More details at bournemouthecho.co.uk/filmclub
