BUSINESS leaders in Dorset were at a London conference calling for a “confident, enterprising and risk-taking” Britain.

A 12-strong delegation from Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) was at Westminster for the national British Chambers of Commerce event.

Speakers included international trade secretary Liam Fox, shadow chancellor John McDonnell and Democratic Unionist Party leader Arlene Foster. Home secretary Amber Rudd addressed the conference by video link.

Ian Girling, chief executive of DCCI, said: “This conference showed just how influential a voice the BCC is in the corridors of power.

“Members of the Dorset Chamber have a powerful say in the views going to government so it was important that they were represented at the conference.

“The rallying cry coming through loud and clear from business was a confidence and positive one demanding support from government to help shape an optimistic vision for the future whatever the outcome of Brexit negotiations.”

Businesses from Dorset attending the event included the chamber’s platinum business partners Deep South Media, JP Morgan, Purple HR, Savills, TeamJobs and Travel Counsellors for Business.
