Bearwood Stores and Post Office on Magna Road went up for sale last week.

Jacqui Habgood has owned the post office for the last 14 years and is selling up so she can semi-retire.

She said: “We’re selling due to children growing up and getting older.”

According to the property details, the post office “benefits from a high footfall which is set to increase further due to the recently approved AFC Bournemouth training facility at nearby Canford Magna golf course and the approved development of 300 new homes.”

Jacqui said the new homes would “create an awful lot of business that we don’t want at our age.”

“The shop could be made larger and it’s ready for some fresh blood.”

The post office is being marketed through specialist business property adviser Christie and Co in Winchester.

The store is on a large plot and has space for around 12 vehicles and offers 672 sq ft of retail space.

It comprises of a wide selection of convenience goods, confectionery, stationery, an off licence, Post Office counter, office and storage area.
