ARTISANS, producers and manufacturers from across the south of England are being urged to showcase their produce at a major new event set for Poole Park.

As part of this year's Poole Maritime Festival the park will be hosting a festival called Taste of the South.

This three-day extravaganza, scheduled to start on May 19, will showcase artisans from across the region - offering samples and advice about their unique products.

Taste of the South's Jackie Phillipson said: "Artisanal hand-crafted products are on trend around the world and we know that there are some superb producers and amazing talents out there, and it’s our mission to find you and showcase you at Taste of the South.

"This is our way of supporting the smaller, bespoke businesses out there and bring them to the public."

Jackie says event organisers know it isn’t always easy to find your way as an artisan so the Poole Park event could help people put their businesses on the map.

She added: "There will be a chance to showcase the use of traditional techniques, new technologies or your own unique and creative style. Artisans are personal and this event will allow them to stand out from the ‘every-day’ products available from the supermarkets or superstores.
