TRADE retailer Screwfix is to officially open its first Bournemouth store, creating 17 jobs.
The store, at West Howe Industrial Estate, Elliott Road, will be launched this Thursday, with a screw-drilling competition open to trade and DIY customers.
Store manager Paul Ashford said: “We’ve created 17 brand new vacancies and have employed local people from around the Bournemouth area.
“Our new team includes people of all ages and experience, but the most important requirement is that they have the right attitude and can offer superb customer service. Everyone here is looking forward to the opening.”
Tradespeople and DIYers can take part in a free screw-drilling competition on the first day, with the fastest time winning a 40-inch smart TV.
Offers in the opening days will include a 10 per cent discount on all product ranges until Sunday, February 12.
Power tool manufacturer Dewalt will be at the store demonstrating a range of products.
Mr Ashford said: “I’m confident that we’ve got a great location here in Bournemouth. My team and I have already been out and about getting to know local businesses and tradespeople and we’ve all been struck by how friendly everyone has been.”
