A SEAFRONT restaurant is offering free work space to freelancers and those working away from the office this winter.

Urban Reef Restaurant on Boscombe’s prom is offering its first and second floors to those wanting a creative space with sea views.

Owner Mark Cribb said: “We get people from as far afield as London, setting up their laptop for the day – just so they have the view, good coffee and food and the creative vibe that oozes from the restaurant.”

He added: “The beach has to be the most inspiring place to be if you’re trying to get some work done which is why we are encouraging people to use the space this winter.”

The restaurant has a triple-height glass frontage to let in plenty of natural light. Its own creative team are based in an adjacent 1960s beach “pod” which was regenerated and updated by the designer Wayne Hemingway, co-founder of Red or Dead.

Urban Reef’s bar, cafe, deli and restaurant have views over Poole Bay to Purbeck. Inside is an open log fire, an oak-clad wall with 60 candles, a 1950s-inspired interior and designer furniture.

Those wishing to take up the offer of free work space this winter can just turn up and ask for the “creative space”.
