FANTASTIC news to hear that Dorset has recently been named the best place to live in the UK, following a study that looked at vital services such as health, education and emergency services.
The research which was conducted by comparison platform, B.heard, was based on a number of statistics including fire services, health, quality of schools and crime rates. Dorset came out with high scores in numerous areas including receiving the third-best GP satisfaction score.
The county has been rated strongly in official records for many years for the long life expectancy and good health of its residents. In support of helping residents to stay in good health, in my role as hospital director at Nuffield Health Bournemouth I was proud to be part of a team to introduce Dorset’s first private cardiac catheter suite last week.
We were delighted Liverpool legend Graeme Souness could officially open our high-tech facility which will enable patients to receive a full cardiac service, including echo, out-patient diagnostic and an in-patient day case cardiology facility.
For anyone wishing to find out more about the catheter suite, they can call 01202 375032.
With its amazing countryside and coastal landscapes and an abundance of leisure pursuits to enjoy, Dorset really is a wonderful county to live in.
