AN ENTREPRENEUR is launching range of greetings cards and postcards that aim to show off Bournemouth’s creative scene.

Adele Clever, 28, is originally from Birmingham and only moved to Dorset six months ago.

She said a lack of contemporary, location-specific greetings cards prompted her to create the business Big Love, which she got up and running with the help of the Prince’s Trust Explore Enterprise Programme.

She is promoting the business with a blue cargo tricycle which she is taking around Bournemouth, Southbourne and Poole, encouraging people to take family snaps and selfies and share them with the hashtags #biglovebournemouth or #blfb.

She said: “Although there are some incredible artists in Dorset, great cultural events and a diverse range of artistic communities, they seem to remain a secret to those outside of Dorset.

“When moving down from London, my friends scrunched their faces and laughed ‘Bournemouth? Isn’t it full of old people?’ ‘Retirement town?’ etc. I immediately saw the potential in this thriving, diverse town and felt the urge to do something to correct the misconceptions”.

Adele, who speaks three languages, has ideas for a bilingual range of cards to celebrate the diversity that language students bring to Bournemouth, together with a historical range to explore the development of the tourist industry. Designs are in progress for Big Love from Poole and Big Love from Southbourne.
