BUSINESSES and schools are being invited in to a Poole company to see the latest state-of-the-art touch screen technology.

Hugh Symons AV has invested £20,000 in an interactive technology suite so that anyone interested can see market-leading products being demonstrated.

A launch event for businesses takes place on Thursday, March 5, with one for education establishments the following week.

The company decided to build the suite at its Alder Hills base because of the difficulty of taking large screens on the road for demonstrations.

The suite features the latest wireless, interactive and touch projector by Epson and products from Clever Touch, Promethean, Smart, Epson and Onelan Digital Signage.

Jo Kenny, managing director of Hugh Symons, said: “Hugh Symons has been trading in Poole since 1971 and I am delighted that now we can finally demonstrate these products to local companies and schools.

“Due to the size of the screens, it has always been a barrier for us to demonstrate these products out on the road, so we decided that the best way forward would be for us to invest and build a suite where the products can be on show side by side.

“This way everyone has the opportunity to compare the screens, use the software and see them all working next to each other.

“Educational establishments are leading the way in using this latest technology, taking the opportunity to bring the classroom to life and really get the students engaged, making teaching and learning far more interactive and fun.

“These innovative products can also be used in the corporate industry: presentations and training seminars can now be more engaging with this state of the art technology; meeting notes can be emailed immediately from the screen. There is now no need to connect up laptops – presentations can be directly run from memory sticks, tablets and smartphones.”

There will be two launches for the suite – for businesses on Thursday, March 5, 4-7pm, and for education establishments on Tuesday March 10, 4-7pm.

Businesses will be able to see how they can communicate more effectively and stay focused, while education professions can see how students could work together, manipulate high quality images and edit digital content in the classroom.
