AN ENTREPRENEUR has abandoned her corporate career spanning 20 years to start up a dessert-delivery company.

Lorraine Hunt, 47, has launched Deliver Me Dessert – a late-night delivery service selling all manner of sweet treats, including Oreo bombs, chocolate brownies, macaroons and unusually-flavoured tower cake slices.

Ms Hunt, of Westbourne, turned her back on the corporate world and took a part-time job at a non-profit organisation to start her venture, something she’s been dreaming of doing for years.

She said: “Having worked in the corporate world for many years, I have dreamed about doing something a little different, something I could have a little fun with.

“It’s taken almost two years but I am pleased to say Deliver Me Dessert has just been launched.”

She is aiming not only at people who want late-night dessert deliveries but also at corporate customers who may want to send a sweet treat to customers and clients.

“Soon, one afternoon a week, I’ll be offering scrumptious desserts and sweet treats for those afternoon cravings,” she said.

She is also looking into getting an alcohol licence so she can offer an aperitif with her afters and hopes to extend her range to offer healthy alternatives.

“I’ve also spoken to a local health and fitness expert to extend our range to offer healthy alternatives,” she added.

“I plan on tweaking our menu regularly to keep people drooling.

“Starting off small, talking to people through Facebook, means I can gage people’s reactions fairly quickly as to whether something will work.”
