STUDENTS from Bournemouth’s Bishop of Winchester Academy attended the first Redweb Digital Day Conference at Bournemouth Pavilion.

They got the chance to meet representatives from a variety of companies that provide services ranging from games develop-ment, apps design, web design, visual effects for films, to search engines and social media.

Laura Bush, the Academy’s careers adviser and professional skills development co-ordinator, said the conference was well presented by a variety of guest speakers from the industry who gave inspiration to the young audience.

“There are a wealth of career opportunities to be found in this growing sector which is developing and expanding as the digital is touching every factor of our lives,” said Ms Bush.

One of the creative companies present was Woking-based Lab. Managing director and founder Jonny Tooze and operations director Matt Lintott demon-strated how the use of remote-controlled drones can be innovatively applied to provide a fascinating range of solutions thanks to digital technology.
