A DORSET woman who guided the TV career of Basil Brush and launched attractions featuring Postman Pat and Where’s Wally has returned to her roots.

Clare Wiggins, 32, from Wareham, has returned home to join the marketing team at entertainment company Merlin as global brand marketing manager.

Clare, originally from East Street in Wareham, went to Parkstone Grammar and fondly recalls visits to Merlin-owned Weymouth Sea Life as a child.

Clare began her career with Red Bull, helping host their Trafalgar Square Railstorm snowboarding event.

She became Basil Brush’s brand manager through six TV series plus the Saturday morning TV show Basil’s Swap Shop before taking him on the road in his first ever theatre tour.

She spent five years with Classic Media, now DreamWorks Classics, during which she worked on a portfolio of family brands including Postman Pat, Wally and George of the Jungle and planned events for them in attractions and leisure parks.

The venues included several which are now part of the Merlin group, including Alton Towers, Chessington World of Adventures and Sydney Sea Life Aquarium. She spent three years heading a division which creates events and activities for fans of Moshi Monsters.
