Savills Wimborne has achieved outline planning permission for housing on a site in Shaftesbury.

North Dorset District Council Planning Committee approved plans to develop the former Church of England First School in Mampitts Road, Shaftesbury, which is jointly owned by the County Council and Salisbury Diocese.

This planning permission follows negotiation between the two councils; as both parties aimed to arrive at a sustainable development that will subsequently provide an attractive addition to the east of Shaftesbury.

A maximum of 47 dwellings are to be constructed.
