New name on Poole High Street

RUBICON People, the Dorset recruitment agency which purchased the freehold of the former Daily Echo and Advertiser offices in Poole High Street earlier this year for £550,000, has moved in.

It has relocated all operations into the three-storey building after spending more than £35,000 on a total refit.

Swedish bank Handelsbanken, which has a branch in Bournemouth, assisted in the acquisition.

Rubicon managing director Lloyd Banks said the new offices demonstrated the firm’s confidence.

Turnover for the current year will be around £4 million with growth predicted at 25 per cent, he added. Mr Banks said: “We are very proud of the new offices because traditionally recruitment agencies spend as little as possible on their staff’s working conditions.

"We believe in turning things upside down and that you only get good, motivated, well trained staff if you provide an excellent working environment.”

Now employing 18 full-time staff, Rubicon has on average 250 temporary workers placed with local firms at any one time. It also supplies contract and permanent staff.

Clients include some of Dorset’s best known firms, from Ryvita and Dorset Cereals to Siemens VAI and Keith Spicer.

Established in 1982, Rubicon had previously been based in Parkstone Road, Poole.
