Councillor Philip Whitelegg helped myself and family when we needed a home. Within a few hours he was able to find us a flat which stood us in good stead to build on. He was so kind and considerate and always thought of others. God bless Councillor Whitelegg.

As a B'mth Couciller told me, "they don't make them like him anymore"
I saw Phillip almost everyday day for over30years when either arrived or left his beloved companion - Janet Muir who cared for him every day before he went into the home.
He would often chat to me - whom he had a great affection for- and after unloading hid large number of newspapers he would say goodbye and go to see Janet - who should certainly be the very honoured guest at the Civic funeral.
Sadly I cannot be there as am currently on holiday in the UaSA
RIP Philillip - it was an honour to be your friend
