JOHN TEASDALE

TEASDALE JOHN Passed away in Poole General Hospital on Wednesday October 15th, aged 79. He was the husband of Heather, father of Mark, Simon and Grant, stepfather of David and Kate, and a dearly loved Grandfather to thirteen grandchildren. He spent his working life in the Leisure Industry, spending six years with the Rank Organisation in the 1960s and managing ten-pin bowling centres across Southern England. He moved on to become General Manager of Rockley Sands (now Rockley Park) for sixteen years, and lastly spent ten years as a Senior Manager for Pontins Holidays, ending as Area Manager, based in Brixham, Devon. After leaving Pontins he became a consultant for the International Leisure Industry for a period, before retiring in Devon. He spent his retirement playing golf and ultimately returned to Dorset. He enjoyed angling and was a member of Christchurch Angling Club. He also became a volunteer to help older people find enjoyment reminiscing in small groups. The funeral will be held in Poole Crematorium at 12.30 pm on November 7th. Instead of flowers, donations to The Stroke Association would be greatfully received. Very found memories of Mr T from Rockley Sands. Where I lived as a child. He was such a loving, kind man. Have often wondered how he was doing. Very sad to hear of his passing. I will continue to smile when I think of him. I remember back in the 70's he had visited America. He brought me some American chewing gum back. Wow I thought it was amazing. Sending lots of love to his family. My father is now 85 and enjoyed working with John for many years.
