AFC Bournemouth: Tubbs poised for AFC Wimbledon loan switch

Bournemouth Echo: IN ACTION: Matt Tubbs IN ACTION: Matt Tubbs

CHERRIES front man Matt Tubbs looks set to join AFC Wimbledon on loan, according to reports.

League One Crawley had agreed a deal with Cherries to sign Tubbs on a temporary basis a month ago, but the 29-year-old was cool on the prospect of a return to the club where he spent half of last season.

And now the former Salisbury City man - who has been told he is surplus to requirements at Dean Court - seems set to join the League Two Dons instead.

The striker has spent two spells at Crawley and scored eight goals in 18 appearances for the Broadfield Stadium outfit while on loan last term.

Meanwhile, the Daily Echo understands Reading are one of multiple clubs in the race for Cherries target Callum Wilson.

The Royals declared their interest in the 22-goal frontman to Coventry City, but any move would be reliant on the Berkshire club being taken over.

Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also keen on prising the £3million-rated youngster away.

good luck to Matt, hopefully he can find his form and earn himself a permanent move, with regard to Callum Wilson it is obvious he is highly rated and Coventry are prepared to stick out for the price they think he is worth, with pre season training fast approaching I would suggest we either pay up or move on

Being loaned out also cuts the wage bill. A couple of injuries and we might need him.

It's a market and the valuation is what people are prepared to pay, some 10 Clubs in our Division too are awash with "parachute" payments too and that inflates the price. Forest have signed two strikers in the last week, but Reading are said to now be in the hunt and clearly Coventry will make the best deal they can and will hold out. As I said at the time ,good strikers fetch a premium price and Grabbham will be hard to replace. Let's hope that Tubbs ( and Adam Lallana ) will be sold and make a contribution towards the Club's finances.

HE is only worth about a million
He's worth what several clubs are prepared to battle for, only worth a million when there's no or little interest

Bit fed up with the Callum Wilson saga why don't we nip up to Rotherham United and have a look at Agard 22 goals last season in Div 1 and a great place to pick up a goalscorer Le Fondre and of course Grabban in recent times also we could let them have Thomas as a gesture of goodwill
