LAST season’s Southern Electric t20 Cup semi-finalists New Milton have fallen at the first hurdle this time.
Milton crashed out to Premier Division Two side Hartley Wintney, who won by 37 runs on the historic Cricket Green.
The visitors struck two early blows but South African Ari Karvelas (65) and Matt Kerr (31) turned the tide and pointed the North Hampshire side to 164 for seven.
New Milton dropped to 14 for two, rallied through Nick Park (43) and Ryan Beck (33), but then fell away to 127 all-out against Jack Cockram (4-18) and Tommy Flanders (3-29).
Cup winners two seasons ago, Bashley (Rydal) launch their challenge at Waterlooville on Sunday, while Bournemouth face a tricky visit to Langley Manor.
Lymington, meanwhile, are already through to the second round.
