PARKSTONE ace Georgia Hall admitted avoiding the temptations of professional golf had been worth it after she starred for Great Britain & Ireland in the Curtis Cup.

The teenager had originally planned to turn pro on her 18th birthday in April but then elected to delay until the end of the 2014, making her available for last weekend’s clash with the United States.

Great Britain & Ireland lost 13-7 at St Louis Country Club, Missouri, but Hall won her singles match and was involved in two halved foursomes encounters.

She told the Daily Echo: “I’m really happy I stayed amateur to play in the Curtis Cup because it was one of the best events I’ve ever played in.

“I learned a lot and our team played pretty well. We were happy that we won the singles so we ended well, we just didn’t make enough birdies in the four-balls and were out- putted.

"But I was pleased with how I played and also that I won my singles match.”

Hall’s most memorable moment came in her 3&2 singles victory over Kyung Kim on Sunday, where she holed out from 95 yards on 15 for an eagle.

She added: “I think it was the best shot I’ve played under pressure.

"The pin was only three yards past a bunker but I thought I had hit a good shot, and when I heard the crowd cheer I knew it had gone in.”
