POOLE Pirates' Sky Sports-televised fixture with Coventry on Monday, April 14 has been switched from Brandon to Wimborne Road.

The decision was taken in the wake of the Bees' track difficulties which caused Sunday's Elite Riders' Championship to be postponed.

One of Pirates' originally-scheduled home fixtures against Coventry on May 21 or July 16 will be cancelled in due course. A date for the trip to Brandon has not yet been set.

Poole promoter Matt Ford said: "We were asked if we could stage the league match here on that date (April 14) and as our stadium was available, we agreed to accommodate the change.

“At this moment in time however, we are not able to confirm a date for our visit to Coventry and we are also keeping the two original home dates open at this stage.

“If we need a free date due to postponements between now and May 21 we would use that date, otherwise July 16 will be freed up."
