ADIE Arnold admitted it would be “a strange experience” facing former protege Jack Satterley – particularly after trying to coax the striker back to Verwood.

The former Potters front-runner, who left for Bashley over the summer, came through the ranks at Potterne Park and blasted home 15 league goals during his first season in Wessex League’s top flight.

Satterley, whose younger brother Ben now turns out for Verwood, returns to his old stomping ground with Blackfield & Langley tomorrow (7.45), a matter of weeks after turning down the opportunity to rejoin Arnold.

Town’s manager told the Daily Echo: “Jack asked my advice when he was a little bit down with being played out of position at Bashley.

“I would love to have signed him when he came back to the Wessex but could understand why he wanted to go to Blackfield – they are in the top six and we are not.

“It will be strange, but whatever happens, I just hope he will buy me a pint afterwards!”

Striker Carl Foster could make his Potters debut.

  • Tonight's non-league programme has been decimated by the weather once again.

Poole Town's home clash with Frome Town, Wimborne Town's match against Yate Town and Hamworthy United's trip to Horndean have all been postponed.

The only fixture to go ahead is Bashley v Redditch United in the Southern League Premier Division.
