AFC Bournemouth: More to come from me says Kermorgant
CHERRIES’ new signing Yann Kermorgant is looking forward to a full week of training after admitting the circumstances surrounding his deadline day transfer had taken their toll.
Kermorgant, who finalised his £400,000 move from Charlton on Friday, made his debut when he came off the bench for the second half of Cherries’ 1-0 defeat by Leicester on Saturday.
Although the former Leicester striker showed some nice touches and grew into the game, he was deprived of any clear-cut goalscoring chances by an efficient Foxes defence.
Kermorgant, who had lined up in Charlton’s 3-0 defeat at Doncaster on Tuesday, told the Daily Echo: “It was a tough game. Both teams have been playing very well and Leicester are top of the league for a reason.
“Unfortunately, the pitch was not the best and it would have been an even better game on a good surface. We were disappointed to concede near the end.
“It was difficult for me and normally I am much fitter. I haven’t slept a lot and had to travel between London and Bournemouth two or three times during the week.
“I knew I wouldn’t be at my best physically but I am looking forward to a rest and a good week with my new team-mates. I am looking forward to the next game and will be much better.”
Frenchman Kermorgant penned a two-and-a-half year deal with Cherries and was their fifth addition during the window with Lee Camp, Adam Smith, Josh O’Hanlon and Ben Whitfield also signing.
