AFC Bournemouth: Liverpool tie the ultimate stage for Arter
HARRY Arter believes Cherries’ high-profile FA Cup clash with Liverpool will give players a golden opportunity to show the football world what they can do.
The midfielder insists the pressure will be on the Reds when Cherries host their illustrious counterparts in the fourth round at Dean Court tomorrow (12.45pm).
As 18-time league champions of England and five-time winners of the European Cup, Liverpool are one of the best known and supported clubs around the globe.
And 24-year-old Arter, who has made 21 appearances in all competitions this season, says the showdown with the Reds will allow Cherries to prove themselves.
Arter told the Daily Echo: “This is the biggest FA Cup draw I have been involved in. It is an exciting game for everyone.
“It will be difficult, there is no doubt about that, no matter what team they put out. Whoever they select, we are going to come up against international players and players we have watched on telly and looked to be as good as.
“The manager (Cherries boss Eddie Howe) will probably make us realise that it is a win-win situation for us. These are the sort of games where people can make their names.
“It is a chance for everyone to shine and show the country what they can do.
“There are a lot of Liverpool fans in the world so I am sure it will be watched in many countries. It will be a good stage for everyone to show what they can do.”
Arter added: “It is great for the town. Some people are probably a little bit disappointed that they didn’t get tickets but for the people that got tickets, it should be a great day.”
