AFC Bournemouth: Fogden completes free transfer to Portsmouth

Bournemouth Echo: POMPEY BOUND: Wes Fogden POMPEY BOUND: Wes Fogden

UTILITY man Wes Fogden became the second player to leave Cherries on a permanent transfer this week after completing his move to Portsmouth.

The flexible midfielder, who also featured at full-back during his Dean Court stint, today signed an 18-month contract at Fratton Park.

His move came a day after striker Wes Thomas switched to League One outfit Rotherham United for an undisclosed fee.

On the back of injury problems this season, Fogden, 25, had not featured for Cherries' first-team since April.

He joins League Two Pompey on a free transfer.

Foggy going is the only downside this month. Eddie obviously knows what he's doing, but Foggy was a real favourite, he always gave his all, and has stacks of ability. I certainly wish him well at Pompey!!

All the best Wes, you never let us down. Unortunately for you we have a rich pool of players in your position. With quality signings like yourself, Pompey will be on a real push next season.

Good Luck Foggy. Great attitude and zest for life and always gave 100%. You'll be a firm favourite at Pompey in no time at all. I hope they appreciate what an absolute gem they have just signed.

Ditto all of the above. That's half of my favourite player pool gone. If McDermott couldn't get a look in against Burton what's the betting with him I wonder?

With his non stop running and all action approach Foggy will make a huge impact at Portsmouth. If he can stay free of injury the opposing teams will not know what's hit them !

Going by all the comments on here it looks as though we have picked up a real gem, one question though is the injury problem a recuring thing or isolated to this season. PUP

Donal could definitely do with some games, it’s a total waste of talent him not playing. Hope that EH is sorting out a loan for him, Pompey or Torquay would surely be better than being side-lined for so long.

Foggy will run all day long but was clearly never going to produce at this level. Good luck to him in the rest of his career. If Grabbs goes, then our away form is going to collapse unless Eddie has 2 very good strikers up his sleeve to come in.
