CHERRIES’ Liverpool contingent will be hoping both clubs progress in the FA Cup following today’s fourth round draw.

Defenders Tommy Elphick and Steve Cook, midfielder Eunan O’Kane and striker Lewis Grabban are all keen supporters of the Reds.

And should Cherries overcome Burton Albion in their rearranged third round tie a week on Tuesday, they could face the Premier League big guns.

The victors will earn a home draw against either Liverpool or Oldham Athletic, who are due to meet today at Anfield (3pm).

In a recent interview with the Daily Echo, O’Kane said: “My father is a Liverpool fan so I was brought up supporting them. I think he was happy for me to support any team but Manchester United and was just glad it turned out to be Liverpool in the end!

“When I was a youngster at Everton, I used to go to Anfield quite a lot and watched most of their home Champions’ League games. My idol is Steven Gerrard, he is something else as a player.

“Most of the other lads in the dressing room gang up on us because we have been saying Liverpool have a chance to win the Premier League this season. They kept dismissing us but some of them are starting to come round a bit.

“Franno (Simon Francis) is usually in there trying to stir things up. He is the spokesperson for everyone else but Grabbs defends us pretty well. He doesn’t like anybody saying anything bad about Liverpool. There are differences of opinion and it is quite funny to listen to.

“There are a couple of United fans and I think Rocky (Ryan Allsop) supports them. Apart from that, there are no other groups and the rest are spread out.

“Harry Arter seems to support whoever is sitting best on any given day. When there is a discussion going on, he supports whoever gives him the most bait for an argument to throw back at people.

“When it comes to trophies, he is a United fan and, when it comes to the best footballing team, he is an Arsenal fan. He changes from day to day and it all makes for good banter!”

Steve Fletcher, Cherries scout and club ambassador, is also a Liverpool supporter and he took to Twitter to post “The one tie I always prayed for every year in the #FACup #BoyHoodTeam”.
