DRONE users will be able to pick up tips and check out the latest models at 'Share the Air' next month.

The event, at Compton Abbas airfield on Saturday, November 11, will see experts from the Civil Aviation Authority and the airfield joined by drone manufacturers to provide flying displays, advice on photography and maintenance, news on the latest apps and an update on current drone regulations.

Jonathan Nicholson, assistant director of communications at the CAA, said: "Drones being the latest ‘must have’ in tech, we’ve seen a huge spike in drone ownership across the country.

“By enlisting the help of the general aviation community, drone enthusiasts have a fantastic chance to be welcomed to the fold of flying, whilst simultaneously learning more about the environment they operate in.

"If you have a drone but are unsure of where to fly it safely or you want to know how to get the most out of your new bit of kit then this event is for you."

The airfield will also be offering trial flying lessons.

The event, from 10.30am, is free but pre-registration is required. To register visit dronesafe.uk/compton and fill out the form.
