ON-DEMAND food delivery app UberEATS launches in Bournemouth today offering a choice of delivery from 35 different restaurants.

Residents can order meals from their favourite restaurants seven days a week from 8am until midnight.

Customers can download an the app and order food from a wide variety of restaurants, with drivers, riders and scooter drivers all able to deliver the food.

UberEATS charges £3.50 for delivery and couriers will bring orders to your door.

Among the restaurants signed up are Joy, EatPho, El Murino and Gallones and UberEATS general manager Mathieu Proust said he is thrilled to bring the app, already in use in towns and cities around the world, to Bournemouth.

"We’re hugely excited to be launching in Bournemouth today" he said. "People can now use UberEATS to get the food they want, when they want it, in just 30 minutes or less.

"With hundreds of dishes to choose from, UberEATS has something for everyone, whatever the occasion or location - whether that’s at dinner home, breakfast at work or a snack when out with friends. The UberEATS app is really simple to use and orders are charged straight to your card so there’s no need for cash."

The service will cover most of Bournemouth, roughly in an area covering the town centre, Charminster, Westbourne and Boscombe. The delivery area is inside of Castle Lane East and Castle Lane West and does not stretch as far as Kinson, Muscliffe, Iford or Southbourne.

There are plans to extend the delivery area and to sign up more restaurants in the coming weeks

UberEATS claims its new service will give businesses the chance to expand and reach new customers and will give delivery partners "even more flexible money making opportunities."
