POOLE Park is open to traffic again following a partial afternoon rush-hour road closure.

Borough of Poole (BOP) has fully reopened the road between the middle car park and the Kitchen Restaurant.

This temporary closure, between 4-6pm, had been trialled every weekday throughout July.

BOP Poole Park life project manager Martin Whitchurch said: "We would like to thank everyone who took the time to give us their views during the month-long trial.

"Although the trial has finished, the consultation is open until August 6. "We will assess the feedback received, together with the results from monitoring the effect of the road closure, with a view to presenting proposals to members later in the year."

The trial closure was put in place following feedback from previous public consultations that indicated park-users wanted traffic reduced at peak times, a council spokesman explained.
