Festival Makers volunteering at the Bournemouth Air Festival will be able to travel for free to and from their shifts, thanks to Yellow Buses.
Volunteers will be given pre-loaded Glo Cards making travel to the festival stress-free.
Jon Weaver, air festival director, said: “Festival Makers will provide a vital role during the Bournemouth Air Festival – informing and guiding residents, visitors and participants to ensure they get the most out of their visit to Bournemouth. “We are very pleased that Yellow Buses is getting behind the scheme and offering their support.”
Gareth Edwards, customer services manager at Yellow Buses, added: “As Bournemouth’s premier bus operator, we’re delighted to be associated with the resort's award-winning, internationally renowned event as the air festival’s official festival maker public transport provider.”
Inspired by the success of the 2012 Olympics Game Makers scheme, a group of volunteers was recruited earlier this year as part of the Wheels Festival.
Now continuing its partnership with Bournemouth University, Bournemouth Tourism and the National Coastal Tourism Academy has widened its scheme.
