FIRE crews battled a heath fire at Colehill near Wimborne on Monday evening.
Firefighters were called at 5.30pm to Canon Hill Plantation.
A retained crew from Wimborne and heavy and light off road fire appliances were called.
In total, two crews as well as two heavy off road engines and four Land Rovers attended as well as the UNIMOG from Wareham.
The heath and forestry blaze was tackled using beaters and water and was extinguished by 7.33pm.
The cause was believed to be accidental and from an unattended camp fire.
Around 100m x 150m area of heath was destroyed.
