FOUR crashes caused disruption on roads around Bournemouth and Poole this morning.

Emergency services were first called after a teenager was struck by a car in Charminster Road outside the Co-op around 8.10am.

The pedestrian, believed to be male, suffered minor injuries to the stomach and was treated at the scene.

The road was closed between Maxwell Road and St Alban's Avenue.

Shortly after, a cyclist was taken to hospital with shoulder and head injuries, following a collision with a car.

The incident took place on Bournemouth Road in Parkstone and the cyclist was taken to Poole Hospital.

Two elderly people were also treated for minor injuries after their Vauxhall Cavalier collided with a white Ford Transit van on the Cooper Dean roundabout around 9.20am.

Police were called to deal with traffic as the vehicles were blocking the road.

A spokesperson for South West Ambulance said there were two casualties in their eighties, one male and one female.

They were described as "walking wounded" and the road was cleared just after 10am.

A motorcyclist was also taken to hospital after a crash with a car in Talbot Road at the junction with Wimborne Road in Bournemouth.

The male biker suffered head injuries and was taken to Poole Hospital.

The driver of the red Ford Fiesta had minor injuries.

The road was closed at Winton Banks and the roads reopened around 10.40am.
