POOLE aims to capitalise on the second series of ITVs Harbour Lives with a Poole Tourism advertising campaign and Facebook competition targeted at the London Underground.
Presented by Ben Fogle, the eight part serries featuring the lives of local characters in and around Poole, airs on Thursdays at 8.30pm.
Visits to pooletourism.com doubled over the weekend after the first two programmes went out and posters with the message “Taste Harbour Life in Poole - As seen on Harbour Lives ITV1” have appeared across the London Underground at 25 stations.
It asks visitors to like the Poole Tourism Facebook page or visit pooletourism.com. A competition challenges people to post a selfie with a poster on the Facebook page, with the chance to win tickets to some top local attractions.
Bruce Grant-Braham, chairman of Poole Tourism partnership, said: “Having iconic images on prime time television and around London is a fantastic opportunity to maximise Poole's exposure over the coming weeks.”
This week's Harbour Lives features Billy Johnson, 26, from Swanage driving the Swanage Railway's dining train for the first time and sees Ben learning about the work of Poole Harbour's dredger and catch up with Poole's fisherman/restaurateur Pete Miles as he starts a new restaurant venture.
