VIDEO: Amazing footage of Bournemouth seafront as you've never seen it before

First published in News

THIS stunning footage captures Bournemouth seafront as you've never seen it before.

Soaring over miles of golden sand and turquoise waters, this footage filmed by Rick Aisthorpe, with a little help from his Quadcopter, gives you an incredible view of our coastline.

If you look hard you'll even see a bather gliding through the water as they do backstroke around the four minute and 40 second mark, before we are treated to a breathtaking vista from high above.

Rick said: "It was filmed at around 9:30am in the morning. We had just finished some work in the sea front office.

"The conditions couldn’t have been better. "

For those of you who want to know how he filmed it, Rick used a DJI Phantom 2 with Zenmuse H3 3D gimbal carrying a GoPro Hero 3+ black edition set to 1080p 60 frames.

Wow! An amazing video, brilliantly captured and almost every comment on here is negative! No pleasing those people, I guess.

This was beautiful footage and it really did capture the beach and sea in the best way. Well done to Rick for doing such a great job, and thanks to The Echo for showing it. :0)

It's not the beach that's the problem, it's the locals. The problem with the locals is that you need a translator to communicate these days! Probably who Boscombe Pier wasn't in the video. Foreign airspace!

A great film of our wonderful beach and it's serene beauty. However, not wish I get to join the negative comments, if one had filmed at 5.30pm on Friday evening, when a vast majority of the beach was covered in litter. Absolutely tonnes of it. It was so shameful to see our glorious beach like that.

As for the person mentioning the wind farm, which will not hinder ones view, you would not see it from that angle and most of the film.

But why should it be left to others to litter pick other people's waste. How much does it take to pick up ones own rubbish and place it in the many bins provided. Or take it home.

Don't know why you received so many negative scores. The Echo was caught out earlier this year by apparently using photographs of the pier approach possibly obtained illegally.

There is an assumption that you can just but a UAV and fly it around anywhere but a licence is needed when flown in certain places which may compromise the safety and privacy of the public. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse.

I believe you need a licence from the CAA to fly one above a certain altitude, I guess similar may be true for model aircraft. I suspect the proximity to Hurn airport and the number of light aircraft flying in the area of the seafront is also a consideration.

Good point which is accepted. I also dislike seeing people who discard rubbish without a thought and was brought up with standards which I try to keep in my dotage. Was just really trying to make a positive point that Bournemouth still is a lovely place.
