AFTER the upsets and the shock results, we’re still left with four of the heavyweights of global football for the World Cup semi finals.

The Netherlands take on Argentina tomorrow night, but first up today are hosts Brazil against Germany.

Both teams have had some impressive results, but have also scraped few one or two matches.

Tonight, the pressure will be on Brazil as they look to make the biggest game in the world on their own patch – minus their star man, Neymar, who is missing the rest of the tournament through injury..

They’ve already gone one better than the last two World Cups, where they left the tournament in the quarter-finals.

Their last final was in 2002, when they triumphed 2-0 over their semi-final opponents tonight to lift the trophy.

Germany, meanwhile, are also on the hunt for a first World Cup final since 2002.

Erica Karouk, who lives in Bournemouth, has been following her home country of Brazil.

She said: “I think Brazil could do good against Germany, but without Neymar it will become a challenge.

“The team can come together. Germany are very strong but they have had ups and downs as well.

“It’s big morale loss as Neymar is always the lead player and one of the most-supported in Brazil and he’s a very good player.”

Meanwhile, also watching on from Bournemouth is Susann Idres, supporting her native Germany.

She said her side had been playing “boring” football and wants to see a return to the attacking style which saw them thrash England and Argentina in 2010.

“I am happy we are through. The first half against France was okay but after that it was not so good to watch,” she added.

“My predictions have been pretty rubbish so far and I have no idea what will happen against Brazil. It will maybe go to penalties.

“I think Neymar being out will make Brazil want it more and try even harder,” said Susann.
