Police warning over suspicious calls

First published in News by , Chief Reporter

DORSET Police is investigating a number of calls that have been made to people in the county from apparent con artists.

A spokesman for the force said that callers were posing as representatives of the police, asking for payments for advertising space in a force magazine.

The police said that they did not conduct such practices and urged anyone who receives such a call not to give out any personal details.

If you do receive a call, try to gain any information you can about the caller and pass it to police, the spokesman said.

Call 101 to report suspicious calls.
