A BODY has been found in the search for a missing man.

Police have been looking for 70-year-old William Haines from Warwickshire, who was reported missing by his family this week.

Son Stephen said he believed Mr Haines could be in the Dorset area.

But following searches of the coastline, a body was this afternoon located 400 yards west of Ballard Point in Purbeck.

A Warwickshire Police spokesperson said: "The formal identification is yet to take place but Mr Haines' family are aware and the Dorset coroner has been contacted.

"The circumstances are not believed to be suspicious."

Warwickshire Police and Dorset Police released the appeal to find Mr Haines after he left his home on Sunday, June 15.

The spokesperson added: "We would like to thank everyone who helped to share it via our social media sites."
