The first-ever Bournemouth Wheels Festival is here and features a jam-packed line-up of demonstrations, shows and activities you can try your hand at.

Below you'll find a guide to what's happening and when. Timings are subject to change depending on the weather forecast.

Zone 1 – East Undercliff towards Boscombe Pier

Classic car pageant, which is in place from 10am with a pre-war display at 4pm before all cars depart at 6pm.

Dakar desert driving shows between 1pm and 4.30pm

Military vehicles on display

Zone 2 – between Bournemouth and Boscombe

Monster truck shows regularly throughout the day between 12pm and 6pm.

Zone 3 – immediately east of Bournemouth Pier

The FMX arena will see experts performing crazy stunts and jumps near Bournemouth Pier. Regular shows between 1pm and 7pm

Zone 4 – Pier Approach, gardens, BIC 

Supercars and racing cars on display in Purbeck Hall at the BIC between 12-6pm. There’s also a ‘supercar cavalcade’ at 8pm

Team Extreme arena - Thrills with the BMX riders, skateboarders and rollerbladers from Team Extreme with shows between 2pm and 8pm.

Pre-war concours cars from 10am to 3pm outside the Pavilion

Family zone

Wheelchair sports - have a go at the sports, have your picture taken with the Sochi Paralympic torch and learn more about the Paralympic movement.

Fireworks at the Pier at 10pm

Zone 5 – west of Bournemouth Pier

Britain’s Got Talent star Dan Whitby will perform a daredevil motorcycle jump over Bournemouth’s historic pier at around 7pm

Classic cars on display

Music and entertainment by the sea between 8pm and 10pm. See a selection of cover bands take to the stage belting out a mixture of classic rock and roll, blues, funky jazz and much more. The Producers will perform from 8pm.

Zone 6 – East Overcliff Demonstration Straight

Witness racing cars, supercars and bikes in action on the Wheels Festival demonstration course.

Open from 10am-6.30pm, there will be action all day with parades and shows on the clifftop overlooking the beach.

F1 cars include Michael Schumacher’s 1992 Bennetton, a 1989 Camel Lotus 101, which was driven by world champion Nelson Piquet and Satoru Nakajima and a 1984 Toleman once driven by Ayrton Senna.

Some of the cars which have taken part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race will also be zooming in, including a Ferrari Daytona, Ferrari TRC500 and Ford GT 40.
