A WOMAN was sexually assaulted during an event featuring a reality TV star in Bournemouth.

Detectives are looking for witnesses to the incident, where an 18-year-old woman was attacked at a night featuring Made in Chelsea star Ollie Proudlock at the Cameo Myu bar in the town centre.

Police released details of the assault this morning.

They said that the victim, an 18-year-old woman from Wimborne, was at the event on Monday, April 21, when the assault happened between 1.30 and 2am at the Fir Vale Road venue.

A spokesman said that the woman was dancing when she was sexually assaulted by a man.

She ran away toward the toilets and was followed by the man, who attempted to assault her again, but left when an unknown woman intervened.

The offender is described as white, approximately 5ft 11in tall and of muscular build. He had short dark hair which was spiky on the top, stubble on his face and a tanned complexion.

He was wearing a blue shirt, dark jeans, a silver neck chain and a stud earring.

DC Will Burnett, of Bournemouth CID, said: “This was an extremely distressing incident for the victim and it left her feeling very unwell.

“She immediately alerted staff at the club, who looked after her and made every effort to locate the offender, however, he could not be identified.

“Someone may have noticed the victim, who was wearing a black knee length floaty skirt with a white top, when she was with the man and not realised that something was untoward. Please come forward if you remember anything that may help the investigation.

“I also am keen to speak to the woman who intervened when the offender was with the victim near the toilets.

“Anyone who has any concerns should contact the police on 101.”

A spokesman for the club added: "Cameo is a well-run, professional venue and the safety of our customers is always our main priority.

"We will continue to cooperate fully with the police investigation and would urge anyone with any information to come forward."

Anyone who can help should call 101 quoting incident number 21:221, or the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
