HORDLE CE Primary School is celebrating being one step closer to establishing a new pre-school facility on its premises thanks to New Forest District Council’s decision to grant planning permission for a new classroom on the school site.
The new pre-school, named Hordle Explorers Nursery, is due to open in September and will offer up to 24 places for children aged from two years nine months, with a play-based curriculum delivered within flexible hours.
The non-profit-making pre-school will have its own space and staff within the school grounds but its pupils will be able to take advantage of all the school’s facilities, including the Olympic hockey pitch, opened last year.
Fiona Adams, headteacher of Hordle CE Primary School, said:“We are delighted with NFDC’s decision. “It will allow the school to offer the families of Hordle early years provision for their children in a bespoke environment designed specifically for young learners.
“The new pre-school will be a caring and nurturing place for young minds to begin their learning adventure.”
The school has already received expressions of interest from over 69 families wanting a place for their children.
