Football teams show off new kit thanks to generous local businesses
FOOTBALL teams at a Bournemouth primary are representing their school in stunning new kit thanks to the generosity of local businesses.
Christ the King’s Year 6 team and the school’s new girls’ team are making a good impression in their bright red and navy kit.
The Year 6 team made it to the Bournemouth schools finals where they finished third and the girls have been gaining experience in their first season.
PE teacher Daniel Smith told the Daily Echo: “We had been using a kit provided to us a few years ago which was shabby and didn’t represent the school in a way in which we wish to be seen.
“Some children were wearing odd shirts and some looked like they were wearing dresses because the shirts were so big.”
He said a representative of Bournemouth-based Kingren Groundworks approached him after a game and offered to pay for new kit, which was then provided by CJI Clothing.
“We feel very lucky and privileged,” said Daniel. “We’d like to say a huge thank you.”
Sport at the school, in Durdells Avenue, West Howe, is going from strength to strength and pupils recently raised an impressive £2,050 for Sport Relief.
