A car has crashed into the front of a Chinese takeaway in Bournemouth this morning.

Emergency services are on the scene of the incident in Holdenhurst Road, near the Tesco store.

Police were called just after 8am after the black Vauxhall Corsa crashed into the shop front of Kwongs Chinese restaurant.

The car is registered to a Bournemouth woman and there are not believed to be any injuries.

Flavia Balbo, who runs the Beauty Queen salon next door and lives above, said: "I've not seen an accident since I've been here but people struggle to turn out of there and often hit the pavement.

"Sometimes they look like they're going to come in the shop.

"People aren't able to see very well and lots of people go over the pavement to turn out.

"It's quite dangerous here I think.

"I feel so bad or them (next door)."

Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them in confidence on 101.
