A DORSET company came to the aid of animal owners hit by the floods in Somerset.
Parley-based Eco Sustainable Solutions donated 60 bales of its ComfyBed animal bedding.
A lorry carrying two pallets of the bedding was despatched to Somerset in response to an appeal by the Flooding on the Levels Action Group (Flag).
It is being used to help people who have agreed to look after animals evacuated from the worst-hit areas of flooding.
So far Flag has re-homed more than 150 animals including 32 horses, 10 pet sheep, four goats, 30 cats, 26 dogs, 50 chickens and a multitude of small household pets from guinea pigs to rabbits.
Peter Hardy, Eco's Commercial Manager, said: “This is a practical way of directly helping those who have been so badly affected by these devastating floods.
“It’s a small gesture in the grand scheme of things but we’re only too pleased to offer assistance.”
