ROLL UP! Roll up! The first wave of acts has been announced for this year’s Camp Bestival.
The three-day family festival, which is held in the grounds of Lulworth Castle, will be taking place between July 31 and August 3. Acts announced so far include dance duo Basement Jaxx, James, Johnny Marr and Sinead O’Connor.
Campers are encouraged to come dressed in circus attire to match the site being transformed in to a circus with a Big Top stage and other attractions.
Camp Bestival ringmaster and Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank says: “I know the Camp Bestival family have been on tenterhooks about our first announcement. I always pay close attention to the Camp Besti forum and social media to see what people want, so I've followed orders and booked two of your most requested acts, and coincidentally, two of my favourite bands ever, James and Basement Jaxx. Two huge internationally renowned acts with massive back catalogues who are going to slay the crowd at Camp Bestival, topping a line-up boasting the best fun for kids, a brand new area for teens and so much more.”
As well as big names like Richard Hawley, the Levellers and Labyrinth, last year festival-goers got an extra surprise when a couple of fans got hitched at the event.
Rob said he is happy to hear from anyone with similar plans at Camp Bestival.
Tickets are on sale now.
