UPDATE: Half-hour delay on A338 Spur Road as three-car collision closes lane

Bournemouth Echo: File picture File picture

A RUSH-hour collision involving three vehicles has closed one lane of the A338 Spur Road this morning.

The crash happened on the southbound carriageway, around one mile from the Blackwater Junction, shortly before 8.50am.

It involved a silver Peugeot 206 registered to a woman from Ringwood, a red Fiat 500 registered to a woman from Southampton and a silver Mercedes SLK registered to a woman from Bournemouth.

No one is believed to have been injured but the local authority was called to deal with fluid making the carriageway slippery.

Dorset County Council highways said there are delays of up to 30 minutes heading towards Blackwater Junction.

Accident on spur road happened to be three lady drivers, probably going too fast or close to vehicle in front. Which seems the norm these days more accidents caused by lady drivers Be more careful girls you might not cause so many accidents

Oh dear, chauvinist at large. I suppose NO accidents are caused by male drivers? I have narrowly avoided many accidents as I have to allow for men driving courier or building vans. Accidents are caused by many different causes and by men or women drivers so pull your head in.

I drove that road to work today and conditions were very good. 2 drivers all failed to leave enough stopping distance and when the first braked (silver Mercedes) they all went into each other. As I can say there were no serious injuries will they be charged under new tail gating legislation? The Police have the proof?

Bournemouth women drivers have got to be the worst in the country. Perhaps they should have to sit a full retest every 5 years, or hand in their cars to be crushed and recieve a half price bus pass.

And while I was sitting in that traffic, a woman (irrelevant) was sitting behind me in her people carrier playing with her phone for literally the whole time, she occasionally looked up to see if I had moved forward. She did take a break from playing with her phone to make a call though, so it was the entire time we were sitting in traffic.

I was half tempted to put the handbrake on and switch the engine off so I could get my phone out and take a picture of her, but I thought that the irony would help my cause.

I fail to see how three cars going in the same direction can hit each other, my only conclusion is going to fast and to close, I was under the impression it was illegal to tailgate, oh I forgot, Dorset police only arrive after an accident has occurred rather than preventing it in the first place.

its not the polices job to watch every driver traveling to fast and too close
its up to drivers to drive slower and keep a 2 second gap.. with any luck all these women (at least 2 of them ) will loose their driving licenes when they receive point for driving without due care and attention..
