EXCITED school pupils will be backing two Dancing on Ice stars to win the television contest after a visit to a Christchurch primary school.

Actor Sam Attwater, who won the show previously with pro skating partner and fiancé Vicky Ogden, dropped into the Priory School in Christchurch to talk to the youngsters about the experience.

The duo, who were crowned champions of the ITV show in 2011, spent time with the students, talking to them about their skating, giving tips on getting started and also about their forthcoming nuptials this year.

Deputy head Ian Swain said: “They were brilliant. The pupils were shown some of their skating routines on video and Vicky was giving tips to the children about how to get started.

“They talked about how they are getting married this year as well.

“They were both just really lovely.

“They demonstrated the lifts, which was brilliant as all the children were sitting on the floor and Vicky was towering about 12 feet above them.

“Both of them were really enthusiastic and all the children loved it and will probably be talking about it for a long time and all be voting on Sunday.”

This series of Dancing on Ice is the All-stars series, featuring winners and previous contestants.

Contestants include Gareth Gates, Ray Quinn, Suzanne Shaw and Beth Tweddle.

It is the last series of the popular show.
