A ROAD was closed after a lorry sank into the ground and exposed power lines at West Moors.
The drama started shortly before 4pm when the ground collapsed under a lorry entering a demolition site on Moorlands Road.
A tow vehicle then became stuck around some live electric wires. Police closed the road at both ends and Scottish and Southern Electric made the cables safe.
The electricity company said at 5.10pm that its staff would be on the scene for the next one or two hours.
